Show March LaMar Jorgensen of the Soil Conservation Service has just completed snow surveys for March 1st. Snow pack was 81 of average on Seely Creek on the San Raphel River Drainage to 122 of average at Gooseberry R.S. on the Salina Creek drainage. If we maintain average or above average precipitation from March 1st through spring runoff we should have a good water year. However, if precipitation falls well below average it can be a very dry year. G.B.R.C. Meadows above Ephraim has 60 inches of snow and 21.2 inches of water. Last year there were 26 inches of water. The average water content of the snow is 19.5 inches. G.B.R.C. Headquarters has 42 inches of snow and 14.0 inches of water. Last year there were 16.4 inches of snow. The average is 13 inches of snow. Beaver Dam snow course in Canyon has 35 inches of snow and 10.7 inches of water. Last year there were 14.7 inches of water and the average is 9.5 inches of water. Mt. Baldy R.S. has 62 inches of snow and 20.3 inches of water. Last year there were 27.4 inches of water and the average water content if 17.8 inches. Mammoth R.S. above Fair-viehas 56 inches of snow and 19.4 inches of water. Last year there were 21 inches of water. The average is 16.4 inches of water. Gooseberry Reservoir has 53 inches of snow and 17.6 inches of water. Last year there were 20.6 inches of water. The average is 15.3 inches of water. Farnsworth Lake in Salina Canyon has 56 inches of snow and 16.3 inches of water. Last year there were 22 inches of water. The average is 14.2 inches of water. Gooseberry R. Sta. has 42 inches of snow and 11.5 inches of water. Last year there were 17.2 inches of water. The average is 9.4 inches of water. Rees Flat on the west mountain at the head of Levan Canyon has 37 inches of snow and 9.8 inches of water. Last year there were 14.3 inches of water and the average is 9.6 inches of water. le w Alan L. Peterson, graduate of Manti High School, has recently been hired as the World of Work coordinator to assist teachers and principals in the development and instruction of career education training programs for elementary students, grades K through 6th in both North and South Sanpete School Districts. Peterson has attended Snow College, has served in the United States Navy, and followhis discharge ing began employment with the Deseret Pharmaceutical Co. of Sandy, Utah. He married the former Evlynn Peterson of Mayfield and moved to Mayfield at that time. After leaving Sandy, Alan has worked primarily in construction and agriculture.
