Show Funeral Held For Prominent Citizen FREDERICK D. D SMYTH DIES FOLLOWING STROKE Well VeIl attended funeral services for Frederick Duncan Smyth 67 61 prominent Sanpete citizen were conducted Saturday afternoon in inthe inthe inthe the Manti North Nort ward chapel Mr Smyth died died at a Salt Lake hospital Wednesday of last week of cerebral thrombosis suffered on March 5 5 He was born Aug 15 1881 in Mendon Cache county a son of Prof and Mrs A A. A C. C Smyth but resided in Sanpete county since I childhood He lived in Fountain Green for many years where he engaged in farming and also was an electrician and banker Active in civic and church affairs he had been a city councilman member of the North Sanpete board of education ward clerk and bishops bishop's counselor He was a high priest in th the Manti Monti M North Ward V at It tim timp time T- T of dea death the He married Mary Verona Cox inthe in inthe inthe the Manti temple Oct 25 1905 They had lived in Manti Mantl since 1937 1931 and until recently Mr Smyth had b been en an appraiser for the Federal Federal Federal Fed Fed- eral Land Bank of Berkeley He is survived by his widow and five daughters Mrs Frances Blackham Blackham Blackham Black- Black ham Spring Glen Carbon county Mrs Alice King Manti Mrs Mable Christensen N. D Mrs Evelyn McNeill Bluewater New Mexico and Mrs Carol Beth Keller Keller Keller Kel Kel- ler Salt Lake City also 16 grand grand- children Bishop Calvin Keller was in charge of the funeral services The prayer in the home was by Matthias Matthias Matthias Mat Mat- thias Allred of Fountain Green Prelude and postlude music was played by Mrs Della Delia Cox The choir sang Lord We Ve Come Before Thee Now a composition of the father of deceased with Ellis Johnson Johnson Johnson John John- son as conductor and Clara Johnson Johnson Johnson John John- son as accompanist The invocation was by Louis H. H Hougaard Irvin of Green was the first speaker who said he was wasa a close associate of the family and I considered them some of his dearest dearest dearest dear dear- est friends He had the privilege and pleasure of teaching the Smyth girls in Sunday School and had found them to be outstanding He had always known Mr Smyth to tobe tobe tobe be active in church and community affairs and had served with him in inthe inthe inthe the bishopric of the Green ward Mr told of the beautiful ul home life in the Smyth home where Love at Home was the motto and all strived for each others other's happiness They all appreciated appreciated appreciated the blessings of the gospel and Mr Smyth had proven to be bea a loving husband and father the speaker said Mayor l George E.
