Show i i Switzerland Native Dies At Manti anti John Jacob Tacob Jr 79 native of Switzerland died at the home of a sister Mr Mrs Emily in Manti Monday of a heart ment after fter a short illness Mr was born Sept 26 1868 at St. St Gallen St Sto Margrethen county Switzerland a son of John Jacob an Anna Elizabeth H lived in Switzerland for five years an anthen anthen anthen ani then came with his parents to Americ after they had joined the Church ot of off otI I f Jesus Christ of Latter-day Latter Saints They first settled at St. St George for 5 years nd then in 1878 1818 came to Manti ManU id here ere Mr had since lived He followed the trade of of mason and carpenter and helped in the construction construction construction tion of many Manti buildings including including including ing the Armada Dance half He had also worked as a sheepherder He was an elder in the L D S church Mr married Lucinda Bell Cox Nov 29 1893 in the Manti tempi temple and she died in 1941 Of 11 children born to the union three daughters and two sons survive Mrs Malcom Ruby Whiting Glendale California Mrs Maiben Della Delia Draper Manti Mrs I Bernard May Cramer Salt Lake City Wallace and Leslie eslie Manti Other survivors are 14 grandchildren 5 great-grandchildren great and the following following following follow follow- ing sisters Mrs Conrad Sr and Mrs Emily Manti Mrs Julius Mary Korn Salt SaIt Lake City and Mrs Edward Carlson Manti Funeral services will be be- conducted in the Manti South Ward chapel at two o'clock Friday afternoon by Bishop Bishop Bishop Bish Bish- op Glen Anderson Friends may call at the home of Wallace Vallace Friday morning prior to the funeral services Interment will be in the Manti City cemetery under direction of the Buchanan Buchanan Buchanan Bu Bu- Bu- Bu chanan mortuary |
