E North Provo died at Wednesday afternoon afternoon afternoon after after- noon at the Utah Valley hospital of injuries suffered 45 minutes earlier ina in ina a two-car two crash at North and 3rd East streets Provo She was riding with her husband and their three- three year-old year son Wayne Barton Young when their car collided with one driven driven driven dri dri- ven by Lawrence Strasburg 28 Provo Mr Young was treated at the hospital hospi hospi- tal for shock and bruises and then released The child suffered cuts and bruises of the scalp and head and remained in the hospital Wednesday night Mr Strasburg and his mother Mrs Sarah Strasburg 66 suffered multiple injuries and were treated at the office of a Provo physician Mrs Young is a daughter of President President President Pres Pres- ident Wm G G. Barton of the South Sanpete Stake who is also cashier of the Bank of Ephraim Her mother is Lillie May Garrick Barton of Ephraim Mrs Young is said to have been thrown from rom the car by the impact and to have suffered internal injuries Her death was attributed to internal hemorrhage Her parents left Ephraim Ephraim Ephraim Eph Eph- raim immediately after being not notified of the accident the first information being that their daughter was critically critical critical- ly injured inured Just a few minutes after they had left for Provo another message message message mes mes- sage came saying Mrs Y Young ung had passed away Mr Young formerly was coach at Snow college and is well known in Sanpete He is now an instructor in inthe inthe inthe the Provo high school Mrs Young was born in Ephraim Oct 1 1901 and was educated in Ephraim schools and graduated from Snow college She was a music in instructor instructor instructor in- in in Salt Lake City schools for forI I five years prior to her marriage to Mr Young in the Manti ManU temple June I 13 1923 They had made their home in Provo since then She was always active in L D S church work and served as president of the Ephraim North ward Y YV W V M I IA IA IA A for two years She was chorister the Provo stake and Relief Society Society- Society music director from rom 1939 to Sept 1946 She directed the Singing Mothers or organization organization organization or- or which sang in the L D S General conference in April 1942 Surviving Mrs Young are her husband husband husband hus hus- band and son of Provo her parents of Ephraim and two brothers George orge Barton of Midvale and Dr Donald Barton of Salt Lake City an instructor tor in the University of Utah Mrs Mis Young has a large number of relatives in Manti A telephone message from Pres Barton Thursday said the funeral service would be held in the ward in Provo at two o'clock Saturday Saturday Saturday Satur Satur- day afternoon |
