Show Thu Man TimmWwt Valley New, 7 Junu 13, 2002 Sports Stingers players win awards with Angels club Three Salt Lake Stingers baseball players swept the monthly awards given by the Anaheim Angels organization. Outfielder Robb Quinlan was named Player of the Month, pitcher Brendan Donnelly was named Pitcher of the Month and catcher Jose Molina was named Defensive Player of the Month. Quinlan hit .373 in May with six home runs (tied with Larry Barnes for most in the month) and 33 RBI to earn Player of the Month honors. To date, Quinlan leads the team in batting average (.328,) he is ranked tenth in the Pacific Coast League. He also leads the team in home runs with 10 and in RBI's with 54. He is ranked second in the PCL in RBI's. Donnelly was 0 with a 1 .88 ERA and one save in 9 games for the Stingers to earn Pitcher of the Month honors for May. He struck out 20 batters while walking just three in 14 13 innings pitched. Molina was tapped as the organization's Defensive Player of the Month after a stellar month behind the of 19 plate, throwing out potential basestealers, (58 percent). To date, Molina has a 10 g percent higher than any percentage other catcher in the PCL. Molina has contributed offensively as well.
