We do this each year to promote local businesses in the community for their service back to the community in which we live. We also hold a silent and live auction to raise scholarship money for the local high schools as business partners with education. This year's award winners are: Business of the Year -- West Valley City: America First Credit Union, 2788 West 3650 South Business of the Year 5469 S. Taylorsville: Wal-MaRedwood Road Business of the Year - Kearns: A.T. Vacuum, 4081 West 5415 South Small Business of the Yean Small World Child Care, 4130 South 3600 West ChamberWest Business of the Yean Valley Fair Mall, 3601 South 2700 West ChamberWest Volunteer of the Year. Many contribute funds or time that make Award winners have included other well recognized businesses such as Harmons, UPS, McDougal Funeral Homes, Texas Roadhouse and Dos Serranos. Last year, ChamberWest in partnership with Alliant Techsystems and the Hunter's Lions Club presented $6000 in scholarship funds to local high school students who plan to attend college this past fall. These funds are business dollars going back to the local community. This is one excellent reason we should support our local businesses.
