NOTICE Salt Lake City, Utah December 8, 1952 The Board of County Commissioners of Salt Lake County, Utah, met in regular session at the regular session at the regular meeting place of the board in the City and County Building in Salt Lake CdjJtah, at 10:00 oclock a. m Friday, January 9, 1953 on December dD19o2. Ihere were present Chairman Ray P. Greenwood and Commissioner Law- -' rence A. Jones and Commissioner George W. Morgan. There was also present Alvin Keddington, County Clerk. After the minutes of the last meeting had been read and ap-- ! proved and the roll called with the. above result, Chairman Ray P. Greenwood announced that the meeting had been called pursuant to notice for the purpose, among other things, of hearing all those who wished to be heard on the questioji of calling a special bond Imelection m Granger-Hunte- r provement District m accordance with a petition heretofore presented to this board. The Chairman then announced that all those persons wishing to contend for or protest the calling of the proposed bond election would be heard and all persons wishing to speak were given lull opportunity. Thereupon the following resolution w as introduced in writing by Commissioner Lawrence A. Jones, was read and discussed, and pursuant to motion made by Commissioner Lawrence A. Jones and seconded by Commissioner Ray P. Greenwood was adopted by the following vote: Aye: Ray P. Greenwood George W. Morgan Lawrence A. Jones Nay: None. . The resolution is as follows: RESOLUTION calling a special Imelection in Granger-Hunte- r provement District. Salt Lake County, Utah. WHEREAS pursuant lo resolution adopted on January 13, 1950,. this Board of County Commissioners has created an improvement district known as Granger-Hunte- r Improvement District having the Heie Worlds newest yy powers bounaaues set out in said resolu- tion, and WHEREAS on Oct. 15, 1952 there was presented to this Board of County Commissioners a petition signed by fifty owners of real property m said district requesting this board to order an election to determine whether the bonds of the district shall be issued to the amount and for the purpose as stated in the petition and requesting that at said election the names of the three persons contained m said petition as the fist trustees of the district be submitted to the voters to be by them voted upon as the first trustees of this board in the City and County Building, Salt Lake City, Utah: and WHEREAS a hearing has been held pursuant to notice at the time and place, and this board has heard all interested pei sons desiring to be heard; and WHEREAS this board does hereby find and determine: 1 That the petition described in the preamble hereto is signed by fifty owners of real property ot in Granger-Hunte- r Improvement District; 2. That a special bond election is hereby called to be held in the district to suhm.t to the qualified registered electors of the district us shall have paid a property tax in the district in the year pi deeding the election the question of whether bonds of the district in the total aggregate amount of $260,000 shall be issued and sold for the purpose as heictoinafter set out in the proposition appearing in Section 5 hereof. Section 2. That said question shall be submitted at a special election of such qualified, registered electors of the district as shall have paid a property tax therein in the year preceding such election, and the election n hercbv called to bt; held in said district on Tuesday, the 20th day of January, 1953, the question submitted to be in the form set out in the form of ballot contained in Section 5 hereof Section 3 That for said election the district shall be and it is hereby des.gnated and treated as a single election precinct and Monroe School, 4004 W. 3500 S. if hereby designated as the polling place foi voting at said special election, and the judges who are to conduct the election at said voting place shall be Hazel McRae, Robert E Jones and Clinton Black. Section 4. That at said election the polls shall be opened at the aforesaid polling place at the hour of 7 00 a. m. of said day and closed at the hour of 8.00 p. m. of said day. Sect, an 5. That the ballot to be used in voting upon the bond proposition submitted shall be prepared and furnished by the Clerk of this board to the aforesaid elec tion judges to be furnished by them to the aualified voters, and shall be in substantially the fol' lowing form: No. Shall the bonds ol Granger-HuntImprovement District, Salt Lake County, Utah, in the aggregate sum of $260,000, maturing serially not to exceed 40 years from the date ot issue and bearing interest at hot to exceed the rate of five per cent per annum, be issued and sold by the Board of er of Trustees Granger-Hunt- er Im- provement District for the pur- pose of acquiring, through purchase or construction, or both, a water distribution system for the district, including all necessary and desirable pipe lines, valves, fire hydants and other appurtenances, and including necessary said bonds to be payable either entirely from ad valorem taxes or from operating revenues of the district, or in part from each, In the discretion of the Board of Trustees of the district?
