NEWS-COME- I year-roun- 3 HOUR SHOW The 103rd anniversary Relief Society was held in the Magna Ward Tuesday. Honor guests were the older ladies of the ward including Lola Smith, Elizabeth C linger, Mary Douglas, Margaret Jones, Emma Elmen, Anna Anderson, Annie Kirk, Elizabeth Anderson, Ed la Larson, Avarilda Jones and Margaret Boise. Each lady was presented with a gardenia. Special "guests were the past presidents of the Society including the first president, Hattie Olsen of Salt Lake City, 83 years young. Others were Sylvia Hark-neof Salt Lake City, Elva and Agnes Philpot of Magna. Minnie Bowen, the second presi-d.n- t, lives in California. Dinner was served at one long table, and decorations were effectively placed in blue and gold. A unique program was presented, consisting of a meeting representing the first Relief Society, with the older ladies in costume, various characters. portraying Magnolia Monson read the minutes of this first meeting and a poem was given by Esther Gunnell. The modem Relief Society was presented with Beatrice V. Dimond conducting. Short talks were given by each past president and a gardenia was presented to each by Rosa Brown and Ida Beckstead. Claudia presented a vocal solo and Carol Jensen, a violin selection. The Singing Mothers also gave numbers, and pictures of the group were taken. The minutes and a brief sketch of the present presidency was given by Laurel Collings. Ladies in charge of the dinner were Alfred Spry, Hulda and Ina Hansen, and program ments were made by Vera Hatton . Honoring Miss Wane Ida Colvin, who is leaving Monday for Hunter College, New York to enter ll the WAVES, Miss Patricia entertained at a prettily arranged social Friday evening.
