Th Boy Scouts of Oquirrb District and members of tbeir families spent a very enjoyable two days outing at tl Scout Wigwam in Mill Creek Can- voa Saturday and Sunday, September 3 and 4. Saturday was given over to a variety of games and contests sitting of sack races, knot tying races, tots and tit games, "in an exciting game of baseball of Scouts versus Fathers, the scouts emerged victorious lead. 11 to 10. with a one-ruThe District Court of Honor was held in the evening at the Wigwam and the following awards made' Second class Martin Bray and Blaine Wall of Troop 100 of Garfield; First a Dtnge'rfte:d,-lmCJlasa Harold Lund and Rex Speers of Troop 100: Star Jack Denton of 100. Lelaod Pickett of 101 and Max Black of 102. Merit badges Troop 100, Carl George Morns, Dean, Elmo Lund. Jr., Wayne Wilde, Jack Murphy: Troop 101 of Pleasant Green, Sam Harding; Troop 102 of Bacchus. Ralph Meik, C. H Thomas, Deri Fairbourn. Ray Fairbourn, Nelson Wbit-becColtigan, Eldon Meik, Ruben Max Black. Ester Inskeep, and Stanley Fairbourn. These awards wets for camping pioneering, surveying, gardening, woodwork, hiking, civics, firemanship, first aid. first aid to animals. cycling, animal industry, public wood -- JiealthJbookbinding, angling, and carving, handicraft, scholarshipbird study, Eagle badges, the highest award in scouting, were presented to Lamar Jensen and Bod Speers by their mothers, Mrs. Thomas Jensen and Mrs. Elmer W, Speers. The two scouts in . turn presented the Mothers badge, and were accepted into the honorary society of the Eagles Nest" by the Eagle Scouts present. A short talk was E. E given by the boys' scoutmaster. Matthews of Troop 100, compliment- -' ing the boys and their mothers on the honor they received and the splendid work they bad acomplished. Certificates of training were presented to Oli-vJones and C, H. Thomas of T roop 102, H. L. Lamb and L, A. Sabin of 101, E. E. Matthews and O. S. Wilde of 100 and G O. Thomas, District commissioner. Two :: George M. Paul presented the prizes for the afternoon's games sad contescash prize of ts to Troop 102 with S3.00, first place and a ash prize of S2.00 to Troop 101, second place. Paul and singing of Taps" by the audience. Sunday was given over to a short service in the forenoon under the direction of Joe Fairbourn of Bacchus. A "Treasure Hunt" participated in by everyone was also a feature of the forenoon: the treasure, a large box of marshmallows. was found by Scout Mac-ka- y of Granger.
