Main Street was reduced to one lane of traffic as the snow removal equipment piles snow on the sides of the streets in order to clear them. The town of Magna which was reported to be one of the hardest hit by the snow fall came to a virtual standstill as the roads turned to ice. The snow was so intense that Magna was shown on National Television News. Meals on Wheels, Division of the Aging was asking for volunteers with four wheel drive units to help deliver the food to the elderly as they could not get through Magna to deliver all the meals to the elderly due to the snowfall. According to the weather bureau of Salt Lake, this past December month has been one of the wettest in history with 32.6 inches of precipitation.
