Laurie LeFevre made pat-Kaches for the boys to wear on their shirts. The boys baked and sold cupcakes to earn money for other scout activities coming y, up. Rays seem to burst forth from the temple to the quilt's edge four cor f inished with a border of lilies of the valley and a large bow in each of the ners, all etched in the tiniest of stitches. fcMPlfc, Stake held their Relief Society Birthday Party on the 13th of March at 10 a.m. Speaker for the occasion is The Story of Ruth. This is a 20th Century Fox cinema scope, delux color epic from the oldest of books, The Holy Scriptures. Being presented at Magna Gem Theatre, Mar-an- d ch 19, at 7:30 p.m. by Magna Community Church, as a free gift to the community and valley at large. baked goodies so famous at bazaars will really go fast. All proceeds will go for the Jordan River Temple Fund. There will be comdogs, sloppy Joes, French Fries, donuts and homemade root beer to eat, game booths generously stocked, and innumerable hand crafted tiems to see and buy. Everyone in the ward has made something to contribute, and those time and efforts are too numerous to list. An important contribution is a favorite recipe from members compiled into a AIR FORCE Cadet Nicholas R. Sandwick, son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard L. Sandwick of 3997 S. Enterado Circle, Salt Lake City, Utah, has been named to the Deans List for outstanding , academic achievement at the U.S. Air Force Academy. Cadet Sandwick, a member of the class of 1982, will U.S. ACADEMY, Colo. wear a silver star insignia in recognition of superior scholastic performance. Upon graduation from the academy, the cadet will be commissioned a second lieutenant and awarded a B.S. degree. the church of your choice Relief Society Anniversary Social to be held in Saturday, March 17, 1979 at the Stake house, at 3 p.m. A program will be held in the chapel to begin the An- niversary. Martin will then express apreciation to all Relief Society Presidents who have served, in the stake, or who are now living in the stake and have served as presidents elsewhere in the church. They will include from the Lake Ridge First Ward, Dorothy Elva Smith, Bowden, Beverly Taylor, Marilyn Owens, Monta Mad- - Verleen Thurman, Sylvia Sharp, Joyce Bezzant, White, Estella Langford, Phyllis Jenkins, Evelyn Jensen, Ina Wright and Connie Johns. From the Spencer Third Ward are Barbara Thomsen, Alice Haslam, Evelyn Olsen, Judy Muriel Belliston, Wilkey, Dorothy Bracken, Irene Wilding, and Tillie Wilkins. These ladies put a lot of time and effort into the years they have served in their various wards. From the Lake Ridge Third Ward we have Yvonne Hess, Gladys Wilson, Julia Mangum and Jean McIntosh. The Lake Ridge Fourth Ward has Ruby Weber, Alice Murphy, Geraldine Huber, Susan Stowers and Tove Roberts. From the Lake Ridge Fifth ward are Pam Barden and Edna Kaaus. The Lake Ridge Sixth Ward has Valeen Jensen who is the current Relief Society president, as is the case also in the Lake Ridge Seventh Ward with Tamara Tice, and the Lake Ridge Eighth Ward with Linda Bryant. Living in the Lake Ridge Ninth ward there are four including, Donna Giblette, Becky Nielsen, Jane Pixton and Donna Harvey. Presidents from the Spencer Second Ward are Pauline Hazel Ellsworth, Elva THomas, Jeanne Martin, t Marix Baxter, Marie Obray, Janice Welling, Marge Smith, Louella Shaw, Hope Clark, and Stella Fowkes. From the Spencer Fourth ward are Susan Holt, Betty Walden, Jean Gourley, Sylvia Remington and Leona Canfield. Following this special presentation, there will be another duet by members White and Ogden, followed by remarks from President Jeanne Martin, Bishop Terry Ward and President C.R. Canfield. Another Duet, Hear Joan O Saviour, will be given by Ogden and Gleneva Me White with Elaine Whitman, violin The obligato. Benedication will be by Valleen Jensen. Two Dens THE JORDAN RIVER East Uftalh Completed Marine Lance Corporal Dale Hitesman, son of Dale and Mary Hitesman of 6685 W. 3860 S., Hunter, Utah, recently participated in Mrs. Joy Sadler, who, according to Mrs. Whiting, is just fantastic, and was so cold-weath- er training at the Marine Corps Mountain patient Warfare Training Center, Bridgeport, Calif. He is serving as a member of the 2d Battalion, 7th Marines, based at Camp Pendleton, Calif. During the training, his unit learned y techniques, cold-weath- er cross-countr- skiing, snowshoeing vival in a cold-weath- sur- er climate. Hitesman joined the Marine Corps in December 1976. . with everything during the rehearsals. Tryouts began at the end of November 78 and the crew worked 2 to 3 days of each week in December, then four days a week until the middle of February, and finished up with practises every day, some that went until 9 at night until the preview. She estimated that each student put in about 100 hours of good hard work. It showed up, too, in the singing and acting skills of the group. after-scho- found time and excited anxious to see if it really was as good as those who had already seen it said it was. It. was!
