Show i 10 The Magna TimaaAVaat Vallay Naw, Juna 27, 2002 Lifestyle In Review New Hale comedy takes a Chance ter. Editor While Bethany doesn't know what she wants as her memories of Chance return, despite her engagement to Floyd, it's Crystal who puts life back into perspective for everyone, including the audience. Hall, who is always perfectly cast in the ditsy blond role, is perfect as Crystal, who is hired by Bethany to encourage Chance to pass over to the other side. Chance, however is resistant to the idea. And the reasons why are the keys that keep the show moving forward and a hilarious rate from start to finish with a few unanticipated twists thrown in to keep the show from being predictable. Also in the mix are Floyd's interfering mother, played by Soni Barrus, and Adam Lucas, played alternately by Cody K. Carlson and Jonathan Baty, who wants to buy Chance's cabin, who add additional dimension to the comedy and the message of the show. Ghost of a Chance, written by the husband and wife team of Flip Kobler and Cindy Marcus, is a regional premiere show in the Salt Lake Valley. It continues Mondays through Saturdays through July 27 at 8 p.m., with Saturday matinees at noon and 3:30 p.m. Tickets range from $9-- $ 15.50. For reservations call 984-900-0 Bethany's dead husband Chance, played by Sila Agavale, comes back to life when the couple go to his hunting cabin to prepare it to be sold. The only catch is, no one can see him but Bethany, and paranormal mediator Crystal, played by Michelle Lin Hall. The comedy of errors begins as Chance and Bethany carry on conversations only the privileged audience is supposed to hear, but fits in with conversations in the room by those who are not supposed to be able to hear the dead man in the room. And Lasko never flinches, even as Agavale taunts, teases, jeers at his charac- - Overstock.com, the Salt internet Lake City-base- d leader for name brands at clearance prices, will soon warehouse hold two-wesales at the beginning of every month The first sale, to be held at Overstock's warehouse at 955 South 3800 West (one block east of Bangerter Highway and two blocks north of California Ave.), will run July 1 through 14. The warehouse sale will be open to the public Monday through Saturday during these two weeks from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. The warehouse will be closed for the July 4 holiday. ek By DEBBI OLSON If love were theater, then Ghost of a Chance is well on its way. The new comedy opened this week at the Hale Center Theater and is as much a window into life as it is to entertainment. But laughs are the order of the day and the Hale ensemble offer their fair share, and a few thought-provokin- g moments as well. With an experienced cast led by Danny Lasko as Floyd and Eden Benson as Bethany, under the direction of JaceSon Barrus, they pull off a story that makes you believe it could actually happen. Lasko is unfazed as Overstock.com to hold local sale like DVDs, CDs, VHS movies and audiovisual' accessories. "Overstock.com sees the warehouse sale as an opportunity to pass even greater savings onto our local customers by avoiding shipping and handling costs and to offer special purchases on products not normally sold through our website," said Overstock.com ChairmanCEO Patrick Byrne. "Since new merchandise will be offered at every monthly sale, we anticipate that our customers will look forward to the first two weeks of every month to see what great new products and deals we will have to offer. " July's sale will focus primarily on media products Approximately $500,000worth of music and movies will be included in the sale. The sale will also include housewares, home decor items, jewelry and electronics. Byrne said that DVDs that normally retail for $24.95 can be purchased for as little as $8 and CDs that retail for $15.95 can be found for as little as $4 at the Overstock warehouse sale. Products at the sale will generally provide customers savings of 50 to 90 percent off of retail prices. All sales are final, and Overstock will accept cash and major credit and debit cards only. Checks will not be accepted. Overstock.com acquires excess inventory through massive closeout purchases and bankruptcies and liquidates it through the Internet, passing savings along to its customers.
