The play will continue for 45 public and special elementary school performances through June 8 a the Company's theatre located at 638 South Slate St. The show has been adapted for the stage by David Wood, and is being presented by permission from Samuel French, Ltd. David Wood is a popular playwright for children's and "pantomime" theatre in the UK, authoring more than 30 plays and musicals. He has dramatized four books from Dahl including The Twits, The Witches and The Giraffe, Pelly and Me. The BFG recounts the story of the popular and widely loved children's book written by Roald Dahl in 1982 about a very tall giant and a little girl named Sophie. One night Sophie catches the BTG blowing a silent trumpet into the bedroom window of some neighbor children. The Big Friendly Giant steals her away to his homeland where he reveals that he is trying to visit children the world over and deliver 'lovely golden dreams' to them through his silent trumpet while they sleep. The BFG lives in a land of other giants, tough Bad Crunching Giants. ftllftl The Arthritis Foundation is seeking walkers of all ages to form teams of Five or more for its new Arthritis Walk, Saturday, May 4, 2002 at University of Utah, Fort Douglas. The Arthritis Foundation responding to this growing public health concern by launching the Arthritis Walk, a new nationwide team walk event to raise awareness and money to fight arthritis.
