The Challenge allowed customers to save twice -first from the reduced energy use and second from a credit for savings at 10 percent and 20 percent thresholds. Customers could qualify on each of four eligible billing periods during the summer, and calculations of average daily kilowatt-hou- r usage were made against the same period from the previous year. "We can't thank our customers enough, for stepping up to the challenge," Utah Power Executive Vice President Bill Landels said. "Further, we know that many customers have made changes in the way they use electricity and will be able to reap the benefits of more efficient use for the years to come." Customers began receig-in- g credits the first week in June. The total number of customers receiving credits, dollars paid and energy saved were verified through an independent audit and they show dramatic results.
