Seventy cars were used. The ftew line replaces the old Bingham and Garfield Railway which formerly used huge steam malleys which brought the ore Loin the mines to the mills for processing. The new route, Which has been under construction for some time, has lesser grades and lower-degre- e curves, enabling locomotives to haul 70 100 ton cars instead of 50. The first train pulled Into the yards at 9. a. m. with 70 empties. A number of local people in cars gathered at vantage points below Bacchus during the day and evening to watch the fast electoc locomotives and cars make the trips. The first train was piloted by B.
