Ad-tt At a meeting held yesterday by the city commissioners an ordinance was passed requiring all citizens, to wesr gauze masks beginning tomorrow tomor-row morning (Wednesday) Novem-rn Novem-rn 20. They are required to wear these masks at all times except upon their own residence premises. This ordinance was passed by the commissioners com-missioners not because of the alarming alarm-ing spread of the disease, but due to the fact that we have only been ablo to break about even with the game for the last two weeks. We have had about the same number of cases cas-es each day and the commissioners along with the board ot health are very desirous of beating the Influenza Influ-enza epidemic. People should 'feci free to go and come as they please and do their trading In town because there is no reason for serious excise-meat excise-meat up to the present time. It was rumored yesterday that Logan would be quarantined against all Incomers In-comers to the city. Cranney offered the opening open-ing prayer and consoling remarks were offered by Elder B. O. Thatch-Jer Thatch-Jer and Bishop N. W. Merkley. The benediction was pronounced by Elder Eld-er E. That whereas, the rapid spread and Increase of the disease commonly common-ly known as "Spanish Influenza," within the corporate limits ot Logan city, has been such "that the Board of Health has this day made an order or-der requiring all persons within the limits of Logan City to wear a mask, except at their own residence for a period of thirty days from and after November 10, 1918. I Now therefore, be it ordained by the Board ot City Commissioners of Logan City, Utah, as follows: J Section 1. That all persons upon the public streets, or In any public place, or place of business, or other place in Logan city, except at one's own resldenceare hereby required, for a period of thirty days from and after November 19th, 1918, to wear a gauze mask so as to effectually screen the mouth and nose of the wearer. I Section 2. .Any person violating the provisions ot this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, 'and, upon conviction thereof, shall be punished by a tine In not .to exceed ex-ceed S 50 or by imprisonment In the City jail not to exceed 30 days.
