Show WORTHY BISHOP OF PROVIDENCE PASSESAWAY Our neighboring town of Providence Provi-dence was called upon to suffer the lass of its worthy 'bishop yesterday when death claimed Bishop Godfrey Fuhrlman. It was but a few days ago that the bishop was on the streets of Logan attending to business Just as ho has done for years. Last Monday at o'clock In the afternoon he suffered Hemorrhage of the brain followed by a paralytic .stroke. The shock was more than he could'bcar and .death claimed him at 12:45 p. m. yesterday. Bishop Fuhrlman was born at Dur-renroth, Dur-renroth, In Canton Bern, Switzerland (Juno 15, 1859. and made the trip across tho ocean to tho United States with his parents In 1860. His parents par-ents Immediately started across the plains arriving in September of that year In tho James T. Ross company. Bishop Fuhrlman was a jgood citizen, citi-zen, thrifty, honest, progressive, at all times living up to the high Ideals of good American citizenship. He was genial, his faco all beaming with sunshine and it is a pleasure to look upon his smiling countenance as he is photographed with bjs magnificent magnifi-cent family in a splendid half tone in the latest history of Utah. He was a farmer by occupation. 31s education was obtained In the llstrlct schools of Providence. Dur-'ng Dur-'ng his, life ho held many positions f ,trust, having been' president and director of many water and milling companies. Ho, was a stockholder and director of tho Cache Valley Banking company, and at one time was a director di-rector In a sugar factory. On July 7, 1881, ho married Dcrtlia Mary Frederick, Six children were tho result of this union. His vlfo died Fcdruary 11, 1895. The ollowlng July he married Elizabeth Flucklgcr Von Alman. Four children were tho result of this union. All of theso children aro living and will greatly mourn tho loss of their good father. His sons have always shown their loyalty In a good cause, answering answer-ing the call to till missions for the church nnd two of them following the flag In tho great world war. BlBhop Fuhrlman has always been a conslntent Latter-day Saint, having hav-ing served as counsellor to Bishop Thourer for twenty years and bishop of Providence for eleven years. Ho was tho kind of a man of whom good men nro mado, a Bafo barometer barom-eter for men and women to follow. Ilo was a leader In his town, his Is-dustry Is-dustry and Individual worth bringing bring-ing that success that mado him Independent. Inde-pendent.
