Show FUNERAL FOR MRS. P. R.BIRD Mandon, Feb. 3, runoralv services servic-es were held 'over tho remains of Sarah Lallls Bird, wife 'of P. tl. Bird, were hold in tho ward chapel at ono o'clock on Wednesday. Tho wnrd choir furnished , tho music dur-Ing dur-Ing tho services. J. C.. Sorensen and J. A. Gardner sang, Thy Will Bo Dono. A duet, Sometlnio We'll Un-'derstnnd, Un-'derstnnd, was rendered by the Misses Miss-es Gladys and Louie Hughes. Tho first speaker was H. P. Lar-ton Lar-ton nu o'd neighbor who spoke of tho good character of Sister Bird and said that ho had known her over since she enmo to Mendon, and what n good mother and wlfo sho had always al-ways been.' Jeremlnh Baker also Bpoke of tho beautiful character of Sister Blul and of her great faith. I Ho had visited her many times dur-ijng dur-ijng her long illness, and told f tho great faith sho manifested each tlmo I they called to administer to her. Mr. A. P. Reese of Benson ward said he had known Sister Bird for n great many years and what great friends tho Rceso and Lallls families had always been. Mr. Thomas of Logan Lo-gan spoko very impressively on tho principles of tho gospel. Isaac Sorensen Sor-ensen wns tho next speaker. Ho told of what a good and peaceable nolghbor Sister Bird had always been how sho had loved her religion nnd her family, and told of what a good Influcnco sho had over her family and how each one had loved and respected her. J. A. Gardner I and Bisop Bird also spoko of tho good character of Sister Bird. Tho services ser-vices closed by the choir singing", Come Unto Mo. A number of tho friends of Mr. Harry Bartlctt surprised him at his homo on Tuesday evening. Tho evening eve-ning was spent in games and music, after which dainty refreshments wero served. Thoso present were tho Misses Miss-es Monta and Marrel Hancock, Vera Larsen, Nora Ahrens, Vesslo Shelton, Allco Sorensen, Messrs Irvln Larsen, Claud Sorensen, Elmer Paul, Lynn Longstroth, Guy Larsen, Joseph and Thomas Arten of Ogden, and Mr. nnd Mrs. Gwon Smith. Mrs. Bird waB 45 years of ago, was a good Latterday Saint, and was loved by overyono who knew her. Sho leaves a husband and six children to mourn her loss. Mr. Charles Lallls of Salt Lako and Mr. John Lallls of Ogden, camo to attend the funojral of their sister The Y. L. M. I. Mr. Joseph and Thomas Artln of Ogden, are apcndlng a fow days visiting vis-iting in Mendon tho guests of Mr. and Mrs. William Bartlett. Mr. Wilford H. Sorensen of Mon-don Mon-don and Miss Maud Maldrom of Tro-monton Tro-monton wero married in tho Logan temple last Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Sorensen will make Mendon their homo for tho present, but In tho spring will go to Mr. Sorenson's ranch near Gar'and. |
