Show HYRUM HATCH, WELL KNOWN CACHE VALLEY MAN, DIES AT HOSPITAL At 10:30 on Sunday morning Hj-rum Hj-rum Hatch passed to his reward at tho local hospital, where on July 10 he underwent an operation, which was ono practically of oxploratlon, a3 his symptoms did not make It easy to diagnose his case. When the incision in-cision was mado it was discovered that his ailment was that of cancer ot tho bowels, the whole of wh.ch was badly involved. There wrs nothing to bo dono but to sew up the wound and await tho end, which camo at tho time stated. In tho death of Hyrum Hatch there was removed from this stage of action ac-tion a business man of no mean ability. Ho was horn nt Franklin, Idaho, on the 8th of January, 1805, and hence grow up among the trying try-ing scenes In the enrly settlement ot this valley. In 1870 ho moved with his parents to St. George, Utah, and later Into Now Mexico, his parents being tho first of tho Mormons to undertako tho settlement of that now great state. It was very sparcely settled at tho time, and tho trials wero so great that tho family wns released nnd called to go Into Arizona. It was thero Hyrum Hatch secured much o' what might be called native ability. He grow up strong In tho belief that ho could accomplish that which he desired to do, and as a rule was unusually un-usually successful. Mr. Hatch removed to bis native town nfter spondlng somo twelve or thlrteon years In tho southern country, coun-try, and mnrrled on Sepotmber 20th 1888, Esther L. Gregory. To this couple have been born 13 children, nlno of whom survive their father. About four years ago deceased was chosen FIrdt Counselor to B shop S. C. Parkinson ot Frankl.n, and held this position to the time ot his death. I Hjrum Hatch was well end favorably favor-ably knoun In southern Idaho and northern Utah, and his death will bilng to hundreds a feeling that in ills passing they havo parted with a dear and respected friend. To his great credit .t can be sold the ycung men of this large and respected family fam-ily are well qualified to tako upon I them tho responsibilities tholr parent has laid down. Tho wlto Is holding up bravely during the trying scenes of tho past mouth. She has been his hope and inspiration during his Illness. To her ho looked to keep together Ills many and varied Interests as well as the bringing up of his small children. The eldest of his children, Hyrum I Ezra, Is 23 years old, nnd tho young-'est young-'est a babe ot 10 days. Mr. Hatch was an honest conscientious con-scientious man, and many nro made better that they know him.
