Show A.A.Allen Dead Hyrum Man and Sister Die Within a Week. HYRUM, Dec. 0. Another pioneer of this city lias passed to his rest. This morning at about 7 o'clock Andrew An-drew A. Allen Sr. passed peacefully away after a very brief Illness This news came as a surprise to most of his friends as It was not generally known that, he was sick. As stated above he was one of the pioneers of Hyrum, being a member of one of tho first companies to settle here. Ho lias always been a highly lespectcd citizen of our community and an honest hon-est and sincere Latterday Saint. Few men are better prepared to meet their Maker than is Bro. Andrew Allen. He leaves a wife and a number of children. Ho has been a member of the Hyrum Stake High Council since the organization of the stake. His sister, Mrs. Emma Williams, passed away last Wednesday night and was burled yesterday, ths funeral services ser-vices being held in the stake house. Rheumatism was the cause of Sister Williams' death, from which she suffered suf-fered intensely the past four or five years. Death came as a great relief to her. The speakers at the funeral' were C. C. Shaw, James Unsworth, O. M. Wilson, Bishop H. F. LUJenqulst and Pros. Wm. 0. Parkinson. The singing was rendered by tho First ward choir. Geo. C; Allen, of Blackfoot, Ezra Williams of Iona, Idaho, and Alfred Williams of Salt Lake city, all relatives rela-tives of Sister Williams, were present at the funeral services They all spoke at the Sunday evening meeting and expressed themselves pleased to meet with old friends and acquaintances acquaint-ances again. H. B. Ames lias accented a position InOgdcnand will leave here this week. He has been bookkeeper at the Hyrum Mercantile company's store the past two years Mrs Wallace Llljenquist gave birth to a boy baby December 1. Priesthood meeting was held here Saturday. There was a good attendance. attend-ance. Several recently returned missionaries mis-sionaries occupied the time. The Kemp ton Komcdy Company will play here three nights this week, commencing com-mencing Thursday evening |
