Show Smithfield Funeral SMITHFIELD, Dec. 13. Funeral services were held today over the remains of Sister Laura Y. Littlefield. There seoms to be more sickness in our midst at present' than we have had for some time, a little son of Joseph Nelson has typhoid; Mrs. Little-field Little-field has quinsy, Miss Ingra Olson is seViously ill of mumps, littlo Robert Griffith and Mamie Carlson Carl-son both have the mumps, too. Mr. John W. Bain and son Angus An-gus went to Salt Lake yesterday with a car of flour. The many friends of Miss Lydifl Hanson tendered her a surprise on Thursday evening. A dainty lunch was served and a pleasant evening spent in music, games etc. Mrs. Ida Merill had the misfortune misfor-tune to fall against the stove. In trying to save herself she burned her hand quite severe. The committee on Old Folks.' day are making arrangements to give an old folks dance on Fri day evening Dec. 20. to raise money for the coming old folks' reunion. The Woodmen are also planning plan-ning n banquet and supper for the near future. Robert Dock, the Willard merchant, is visiting the Griffith family. . Charles Goldeu.a formcrSmith-field formcrSmith-field boy,- is visiting friends here. Mr. and Mrs. August Pearson took their sonDewey to Salt Lake to be operated on for spinal and hip trouble. The operation was performed on Wednesday. Word from William Cantwell says he has been assigned to labor- in Tacoma, Washington. Edwin Miles returned from a twenty eight month mission in England. He is looking and feeling feel-ing well and judging from the excellent ex-cellent talk he gave on Sunday last, he has made a very successful success-ful missionary. The first edition of the Smith-field Smith-field Sentinel was put tou!t among the people, today. It isa newsy little sheet and shows much careful care-ful study and efficient work. v |
