Show P1pa3g. Death of old time Residents of Logan. The death of two well known j and highly esteemed residents of j Logan took place Saturday, Feb. I 21, 1903. j j William E. Partington, a pio-j neer, died at his residence in the Third ward., after a brief illness. He was a native of England, j aged about 67 years ai-d had I been associated wi:h the growth of Logan from its earliest history. his-tory. He had been a member oi: Logan city council for several terms, and had held other positions posi-tions of honor and responsibility in a creditable manner. He filled two missions in his native land, and was from bis boyhood to his death a most earnest ana iaitn-ful iaitn-ful Latter-day Saint. He raised I a large family and his home in: Logai was always the Mecca for j i a party of merrymaking young 1 people. He leaves a wife and sixteen grown children, 'among the lat- j ter being Mrs. Edward Edwards, Mrs. Newton Woodruff of Smith- j i field , and others. I The funeral will be held in Lo-; gan tabernacle at 1 0 -fifosY ; y- ' ' , ,, I Mrs. Soren Sorenson, a highly esteemed resident of the Fourth j ward, also passed away Satur-, day. She was the daughter of the late Hans Anderson aud wife of the late Soren Sorenson, both of whom died about three years ago. She was a lady of excellent character, and was greatly beloved be-loved by her family and a. wide circle of relatives. She leaves six children, all grown. She had been an invalid for several years. The deceased, Mrs. Tua An-dei An-dei son Sorenson, was 'oorn in Denmark 56 years ago. lhe iun-eral iun-eral service was held in the Fourth ward meeting house yesterday, yes-terday, consoling remarks being made by a number of speakers. Both of the deceased residents recently contracted heavy colds, which combined with age and debility, resulted in death. |
