Show RESOLUTION Proposing Amendments to Beetione 1 i ft of Article of the Constitution of the State of Utah, Kelatlac to Direct Legislation by the People. Be It resolved and enacted by the Legislature, f the State of Utah, two-thirdsof all the members mem-bers elected to each house thereof concurring "section I. That section I of Article of the Constitution of the State ot Utah, be amended to read as follows: , c,,. Seo. I. The legislative power of the State shall be vested: 1 InaSenateandHouseof Representatives, which shall be designated the Legislature of the State of Utah. . , 2. in the people of the State of Utah, as hereinafter slated: The legal voters, or such fractional part thereof, ol the State of Utah as may be provided pro-vided by law, under such conditions and In such manner and within such time as may be pro-' vided by law, may Initiate any desired legislation legisla-tion and cause the same to be submitted to a-vote a-vote of the people for approval or rejection, or may require any law passed by the Legislature (except those laws passed by a two-thirds vote it the members elected to each houso of the Legislature) to be submitted to the voters ol the State before such law-shall take effect. The legal voters, or such fractional part thereof there-of as may be provided by law, of any legal subdivision sub-division ot the State, under such conditions and In such monner and within such time as may be provided by law, mav initiate any de sired legislation and cause the same to be sur mltted to a vote ot the people of said legal subdivision for approval or rejection, or maj require any law or ordinance passed by tM law-making body of said legal subdivision U be submitted to the voters thereof before suoh law or ordinance saan . Seo. 2. Also that section , s!, of Article of the Constitution of the State of Utah be amended to read as follows: . i. Seo 22 The enacting clause of every law shall be, "Be It enacted by the Legislature of the State of Utah . " Except such laws as may be passed by the vote of the electors " provided pro-vided in subdivision section 1 of this article and such laws shall begin as follows: "Be enacted bv the people of the State of Utah.
