Show AN IMPORTANT MEASURE. EDITOR LEADER:--On Saturday last, the Executive committee of the Cache Valley Board of Trade met in the Co-op. office, all of the members of the committee being present. On motion John H. Thatcher was elected chairman and Chas. [Charles] Nibley secretary of the committee. The chairman stated that the object of the appointment of the committee, by the Board of Trade, was that we should take hold of the different branches of business, such as grain, hides, lumber, butter, eggs, farming implements and machinery, and as soon as possible, by being united and energetic, secure for the people the very best markets, prices and terms. The business before the committee was then discussed, and on motion the following standing committees were elected to look after the branches of business appointed to them, and as far as possible to open up markets, and make the necessary recommendations to the Board of Trade. Committee For butter and egg interests, John B. Thatcher and Wm. [William] Haslam. Farming implements, wagons, wagon timber, &c. Fred. [Frederick] Turner, S. R. Parkinson and Henry Hughes. Grain and flour James Mack, H. Hughes and John B. Thatcher. Lumber, lath, shingles, &c. C. W. Nibley and O. N. Llijenquist. Hides H. Hughes and Wm. [William] Haslam. The chairman urged upon the respective committees the necessity of looking promptly after the business in hand, having constantly in view the best interests of the whole people. Moved and carried that the minutes of this meeting be published in the Logan Leader. Adjourned to meet in the same office, on Jan. [January] 31st, at 12 o'clock noon. Chas.
