Show The amount of mining that is being done in this valley is not great it is true but it is greater than is generally supposed. Mr. P. A. Neilsen is down 200 feet in his mine near Providence, with very favorable indications. In the south end of the valley, however, is where the most is being done. Lately Messrs. Finnell & Connor have sunk an incline 30 feet deep on their claim called the Trade Winds. This claim produces silver, gold and iron. An assay of 35 ounces of silver, $6 in gold and 54 per cent iron has been obtained from it. It is situated in Hyrum dry canyon 3 miles from Paradise. There are several other mines in the Paradise district in which a great deal of work has been done, and some of them are quite promising. There are also some very promising claims in Blacksmith's Fork canyon which are being developed. |
