Show BELOW PAR. The performance of "William Tell" on Thursday evening of last week ?? pronounced by several who saw it, to have been rather below the average of our home talent performances, in ar?? merit. The playing of Mr. George Bywater as "Tell," was very ?? throughout, but would have been more effective with letter? support. Mr. J.G. Bywater as "G??" proved again that he possesses splendid talent for that class of characters. Allen Haws, as usual, played with care and effectiveness. The performances need to have ??? study and rehearsal, and was hardly as good as when played before. The farce of "Rox? Box? and Cox" went off better than did the play, Evan Stephens as "Mrs. Bouncer" creating immense mirth. |
