It appears that there will be some little difficulty over election matters this fall. When. the. city , council reconstructed the 'five municipal wards last spring, the county commissioners were asked to change the voting districts, by changing the boundaries of the seven already in existence and by creating three more, .thus making ten districts, or two in each municipal ward. This was absolutely necessary in order to conform with the State law, which provides that an election district must not be divided between two or more municipal wards, a condition that cannot' avoided where von have five municipal wards and seven 'voting precincts. The commissioners failed to take any action on the matter whatever, and now it is too late for them to do so voluntarily, hence legal proceedings will likely be resorted to, to compel them to perform1 their duty. A writ cf mandamus will in all probability be asked for as soon as Judge Hart returns, directing the commissioners to remodel the districts, and there is but little doubt that it will bo granted ks the law is very explicit upon the point in question. It is not expected, however,' that the commissioners will make any violent objection to the writ being granted, os members of their pdity will likely with Democrats in securing the order. Attorneys Keeler and Walters will likely have the matter ip hand. J . vie-;i- m , I . , . 1 - .
