In 1889 he married Emma Forrester who died many ' years ago. To them was bom Joseph B. Read of ' Smithfield. Mrs. Zelda Klrkbride, Los Angeles and Mrs. Mary South of Ogden. About four vears ago he 'married Mrs. Jane Claypool who survives him. Two brothers, Isaac and William Read of this city and six grandchildren also survive and a large family of relatives. Mr. Read died of brain hemorrhage following an attack ot paralysis a month ago since that time he has been bedfast. The floral emblems were profuse and beautiful. The house was f lilted with sorrowing relatives and friends to pay their respects to the family of a good man and worthy citizen.
