ruling they may tax part of the total worldwide income of multinational corporations doing business within dollars-and-cen- ts - A woman told health officials TRENTON NJ (UPI) today she bought a bottle of gravy mix that may be laced with a deadly insecticide the fourth suspicious batch the state The 5--3 ruling upheld a California law — similar to laws in reported 22 other states — that calls for taxation of that portion of the overall income of a corporation and its foreign subsidiaries attributable to the parent company’s operations within state boundaries Writing for the court Justice William Brennan said double taxation — as the corporations claim — is permissible and rejected claims it invites retaliation by foreign nations against US companies three other bottles of Gravy Master Seasoning and Brown Sauce made by Gravymaster Inc of Norwalk Conn disclosed the presence of the poison nicotine sulfate state officials said Sunday The third bottle was found Saturday in Jersey City Nicotine sulfate is a toxic horticultural insecticide that affects the nervous system and causes vomiting dizziness convulsions coma and death officials said Health officials said there have been no reported illnesses from the tainted gravy mix which has been recalled in New Jersey Ms Collings said the fourth bottle bought in Belleville would be brought to Trenton for analysis The name of the woman who called the state Health Department was not released The caller became suspicious about the mix because of the state's warning that the tainted bottles were marked with nail polish New Jersey health officials were alerted to the tampering Friday by an anonymous letter writer who told the New York Post he had contaminated the gravy mix to put Gravymaster Inc out of business The writer said the tainted bottles were marked with red nail polish and placed in Pathmark supermarkets in Weehwawken North Bergen Jersey City and Belleville An FBI spokesman said authorities believe there is one adulterated bottle still not recovered because the anonymous letter mentioned four bottles in four stores The state police issued a statement saying as many as two tampered bottles could still be missing There have been no arrests in the case Two marked bottles taken from supermarkets shelves in Weehawken and North Bergen Friday night were found to contain the poison after the contents were injected into laboratory mice Saturday A third bottle was discovered late Saturday night in Jersey City and that bottle was also found to be contaminated Collings said Tests on abroad Corporations had
