Right now, of course, the theme is Easter. It comes Sunday, April 5. Weve browsed among some of the 1953 Easter Cards, and find the usual cheery verses : Wishing, wishing, wishing That your Easter is just right! Hoping, hoping, hoping That your springtimes very bright! One card even pictures the Easter bunny getting ready for this years most dramatic event the coronation. Dressed in the ceremonial robes and crown of a king, hes seated on a throne, saying: Hope Easter treats you royally! Many of the new designs, of course, remind us that Easter commemorates the, Resurrection. Its comforting to find this, since often the commercialism and the funny crowd out the original significance of such occasions. Holy Land scenes include one of the angels at the tome announcing that Christ is risen. Another portrays Jesus as the Good Shepherd, sheltering a lost lamb in His arms. It seems, however, that bunnies, fluffy chicks and ducklings, proud gardners, Easter paraders, and grinare far in the majority as Easter card themes. ning probably is a worthy custom. fun-lovin- egg-dye- Card-sendin- between Preston and which is in poor conhiln.-y- , dition at the present time.
