Deluge of Bills A deluge of bills hit the house and the senate as both branches prepared to adjourn for a Wednesday junket to Ephraim. One bill, apparently aimed directly at the communist party, would prohibit political parties which advocate overthrow by force or violence local, state or national from placing their government, candidates on the ballot. The bill was said to be similar in scope to those introduced in other legislatures throughout the nation. At the sam'e tune the senate received the first public power bill. Power Bill It would authorize Utah cities and towns to dispose of electric energy inside or outside their corporate limits and would allow cities and towns to take over and maintain lands, easements, rights of way and distribution systems and similar facilities provided such facilities were not located in any other town or city. The bills reached the senate before the upper chamber had passed and sent to the house a new uniform traffic code for the State of Utah. The pi uiclpal changes in the code from the original bill were elimination of provisions regulating bicycles on state highways and of increase of speed limits to 35 miles an hour in residential. Meantime, both the senate and f- APTS.
