How- ever and 880 Dale Nelson, star performer, should be at top form by the time the Aggies clash against the BYU squad. Nelson seems to be tops in this line and if he continues in good form should win his events. A former South Cache high school man. Nelson is still only a sophomore and with two more seasons to perform in should approach record marks before finishing his career. At Salt Lake City last week end. Nelson entered only the 440. He won the event as expected but became ill and did 441 not enter the 880. This event practically conceded to the Farmer squad before the meet and cost them 5 valuable points. With these points plus the 20 which Lee Cardon usually gains and the fact that with Nelson in the relay the Aggies could have won, the Aggie cinder boys could have made a tight meet of the affair. Renewal Of Feud One of the highlights of the dual meet with BYU coming should be the renewal of the stratosphere event between Cougar pole vaulting champion Carl Clark and the Aggies ace participant, Earl Winger. Winger walked away with first place honors at Utah last week and should stick close to Clark next week. Clark set up a new conference record last season and Winger was his closest foe. With Winger displaying prime early season form, the feud between these two pole vaulters may result In even a higher conference record being set this year. Captain Leonard 'James in the high jump should take this event with little trouble. He outjumped the Redskin artists at Salt Lake City last week in his first track competition this season. James is a senior this year and seems to trying, to get in his last licks with telling effect. Wayne Ashworth, Farmer low hurdler may break into the money against the Cougars. Tripping on the last barrier last week cost Ashworth a certain second place sport in the low hurdles at Salt Lake City, an accident which he vows will not happen again. . had been Tex Carleton Pitches For Dodgers 100-yar- i With their eyes set on the track meet with Brigham Young university at Logan on Saturday May 11, Utah State Aggie cinder artists are working hard to get into good form for the Invasion. The loss at the hands of Utah no university last week has in Farway dimmed the hopes of the mer crew. The fact that Lee Cardon and Dale Nelson, high point Aggie track men in early season meets, were far from being at their best explains partially the reason for the Utah victory margin. But where these ace men were unable to come through as expected prior to the meet, several new comers to the Farmer ranks brightened the hopes of the considerably Ags for the remainder of the meets slated for this season.
