Show ' THE' n ERA PAGE SIX Cache T rack Season T o Open With Class Meets Track and ' field ' competition in Cache valley high schools will be ushered in on Friday afternoon of this week when the local high schools hold their annual inter-clas- s meets. The interclass competition should go a long way in to determine possible dihelping vision, regional and stats winners ' At Logan high school the meet wHl be a part of the annual student body day. The seniors of last year with such versatile performers as Dean Humpherys, Paul Willmore, Charles Kownlhs, Arthur Partington, Vern Cooley and a host of other brilliant performers, carried off first honors. And again this year the upiierdassmeu ore favored to weather the storm and eke out with a first place, although they will receive plenty of oiu)etilion from a fust supping group of juniors. t'4MiHLKTI. The divisional and regional competition will In all probability be held in the USAC stadium. The Logan high Grizzlies are holders of both division present and regional championships The Logamtes also finished in fourth place in state competition a year ago. Their hopes of repeating are hardly what may be considered bright, many promising candidates are taking daily workouts but the times and distances being made are hardly indicative of a regional championship. North Cache, winners of the team thampionship in the annual City Creek run recently held at Salt Lake, will doubtless enter a strong team in the chase for the throe meets. Their strength will likely center around a great group of distance runners led by the hard working Clifford Saunders. Coach Hebe Whitting's tracksters have always been a serious threat and if the North Cache mentor can uncover some good material in the sprints and field events the Bulldogs should finish well near the top. South Cache will in all probability . APRIL 14,1932.
