Blair Hale, professor of air science and commandant of the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps detachment at USU. The Sabre Air command, of which the new unit will become a part, is a national organization whose purpose is to work with AF ROTC headquarters and the Air Society in promoting interest in air power. Charter members of the new sabre group include 18 freshmen and sophomore cadets, the of the new group being the AFROTC drill team, said Col. Hale. From the new sabre squadron 24 cadets will be selected for the detachment's drill team which will compete in western drill competition this spring. Utah State AFROTC drill team for the second time is defending champions among Utah drill teams. The unit also will compete in national competition April 25 in San Francisco.
