Stephen TROUBLE AT BOULDER DAM The American jicoDie, who are paying for Doulder dam, are not in sympathy with the treatment accorded workers there by private concerns that hold the fat contracts for construction. The administration made its first mistake when it took construction out of the hands of the federal reclamation service and gave it t.o private interests. It made another when it threatened recently to turn federal machine guns loose on workers who ver striking merely for $5 a day, decent sanitation and good drinking water. Remembering that temperatures at the dam site range up to 120 in the shade, is there anything about those demands? Under the privately engineered construction methods, the life toll at the dam already has been inordinately high. If it continues, hundreds of working men must die before the work is finished. The American people, paying "the cost, want their workers well treated, decently paid and properly safeguarded. If private companies will not do these things, the government should step in and force them to instead of threatening the workmen with machine guns. folks! Word has been refcetved from Nebraska that Ramond Hendry Wiliams, art instructor for three years at the Logan high senool, has acepted a position at teacher in the University of Nebraska, at Lincoln. He and Mrs. Wiliams recently moved vo Lincoln. After leaving Logan, they went to Madison, Wisconsin, where Mr. Williams studied at the University of Wisconsin. He held a position in the Wisconsin school in the department of art education before going to Nebraska. In his new work, Mr. Williams will have charge of sculpturing and ceramics instruction. While a member of the Logan high faculty, Mr. Williams devoted much time to art activity in the other public schools of this city.
