HAS LOE FOK ANIMALS As I have a love for animals, I became interested in the liveClub stock phase of the work. The following year my father gave me a calf. This made it possible for me to enroll in the Calf Club. The first year I was enrolled there were only four members including me, in the Granger Calf club Now we have two dubs of girls and one of boys in this community. I enjoyed that first year's work very much. The club visited some of the dairy plants in Salt Lake City and as a result I entered the essay contest in which I won second place. I also showed my heifer at the Salt Lake Countv Junior Livestock Show, the Utah State Fair, and the Ogden Livestock Show. Following the completion of the first years work, our county agent, Mr. Martmeau, asked me to act as a Club leader in Granger for the following year. I had the privilege of going to Lo-- I gan to the Utah Agricultural col-- I lege for a week of intensive (leadership training to help me with this work TEN GIRLS WERE INCLUDED Mr. Martineau suggested a membership of only girls for my club. I was able to enroll ten was girls as members. This club Hol-! limited to members owning n calves. Where the parents of the members owned purebred Holsteins they gave their girl a calf. The other members obtained their calves from Hol-- j stein breeders.
