a credit to her resume Tiger keeper Gahbi Mccham was fabulous on Thursday She kept a game interesting when it should have been a blowout Even though the Bobcats dominated the game with dozens of excellent shots on goal they netted just five Meanwhile a young Tige team surprised the Bobcat defense with three goals but the Cats as the MinJoe Mays pitched a two-hittnesota TVvins snapped Pedro on the field and it showed" Sky View coach Doyle Geddes said “She (Mecham) saw a chance to keep her team in it I was impressed with her" Many times during the match Mecham was the only defense left to protect the goal Sky View (2-had superior foot skills and skipped and shot past the Hurricane (0-1- ) defense with situations with ease setting up Mecham However the Tiger keeper held her own blocking and saving many shots This was especially impressive because Mecham had never played goalie before and didn't play any soccer last year Sky View never dented Mecham's armor until the second half The Bobcats scored twice in the first half but both were off beautiful comer kicks that were knocked into the goal by Tiger defenders The first comer kick was by Emily Campbell while Trisha Canton booted the second "They put them in the mouth of the goals” Geddes said Sky View had several excellent scoring opportunities during the rest of the half but Mecham saved the Tigers from a bigger deficit A Hurricane inbounds throw from the midfield found Cassadee Stratton alone behind the match with defenders and she won a Hall close the half at 1 View's Vanessa to Sky All of a sudden the Bobcat's “easy win" was anybody's game Stratton struck again in the second half She tied the game by intercepting a crossing pass from a Sky View defender and scoring from 10 yards out Sky View's Brianne Moffitt was determined to get the lead back She barely missed on three great scoring opportunities but finally headed in a pass from Amie Hansen to raise die Cat lead to 2 Hurricane again tied the game on a penalty kick but Sky View finished by scoring two unanswered goals Campbell scored on a bullet from 35 yards out that slipped through Mecham’s hands and Cardon fought off two defenders to score a
