UTsYfa D'DNoI iFftSNSlx: ll ILL TAKE NINE TO I i:AM ENT The Logan coach stated Friday that he would very likely take He nine men to the state joust is somewhat undecided as to his he did tiaveling squad However intimate that other than his main live of Ryan, Brown, Otterbeck, Haslam and Wilford Kowalhs he would take Garr Thompson, forward; Luther Yeates, guard, Tom and either forward Bankhead, Harold Olofson or Howard Eames Judging from past performances, about the weakest spot in the Logan attack is in the matter of reserves. Crookston has several promising players but they need experience and attempting to get experience in a state tournament Garr disastrous. prove may junior high Thompson, young school sensation of a year ago, has been showing up well in recent practices and appears the most likely choice for first substitute on the offense. Thompson is fast, passes well and has a good eye for the hoop. Another youngster upon whom the Logan coach is counting heavily is Luther Yeates at guard Y'eates has seen but little action in division games during the past season but in scrimmage with the second team, he has shown considerable promise. Tom Bank-headiminutive forward, is a fast boy and should add speed to the Grizzly attack. Big Harold Olofson at center or forward has had trouble getting going during the past season. He is a rangy bhy and may hit his stride in the Salt Lake tourney. Howard Eames was lecently promoted from the second team and his rapid improvement has caused Crookston to give him serious consideration. As to the Grizzlies starting five, many Logan eport followers are of the opinion that the locals have the ability to go far in the tourney. However the b!g question as per usual is: "Will they perform in Salt Lake as they do in the A year ago Cache division?" the Grizzlies captured fifth place or consolation honors and many spectators believed them to be as good a team as the tourney presented. ....
