Blood, chairman of . the state highway commission, said today. The highway executive will confer this afternoon with several Logan men, among whom were believed to be M. R- - Hovey, secretary of the chamber of com- -, merce and B. G. Thatcher, chamber president. "I will be very interested to hear what these gentlemen have to say, Blood remarked. We surveyed a new route which led up the hill, across the campus of the college and then dropped down Into the mouth of the canyon. This route was approved by the college with a very mnior change. Officials of the school suggested that we make a slight alteration in alignment, a slight cur-o- f land for which they had vature, in order to avoid crossing a particular piece other plans. "Advantages of this route are more in the line of traffic safety than reduction of distance. That is, the new alignment would avoid several traffic hazards on the existing route along the river and canal. Blood said that the commission would reach a final ddccision on the new routing just as soon as he was assured that the route proposed by the state highway department was well received. The Cache county commisWednesday morning, refused to take def.nite action either for or against any change In the state highway route from the center of Logan to the mouth of Logan canyon. The commission met with Mayor A. G. Lundstrcm and I. Olof Commissioner City Pedersen and a special committee of Logan residents who are opposed to any change in the present route. City Attorney Leon Fonnesheck .vas also present. The petition, which has been signed by about 5fi0 local residents, was presented by the committee but the commission refused to sign. They expect to hold a special meeting with the city within a few days. Committeemen .appearing with the petition were John E. n Olson, George Mikkelsrn. Pehrson, Sr., and Jr., J.
