Show HAS A MILLIONAIRE A HEART? It may sound strange to some for us to say that a millionaire has no heart in him and can have none; yet it is true. Let us illustrate: Last Sunday dinner was late at our house. The editor was ravenously hungry much more so than is usual with him. The wind was cold without, and as we sat down to the meal we could not help thinking of the poor, homeless, hungry wretches that are tramping the country. At that particular moment we felt our heart go out after these unfortunate people. Certainly no appeal could have been made to us at that time that we would not have granted if possible. Oh, what an awful thing it is to be hungry! What an awful thing it is to see others hungry Greenbacks are infinitely better than National bank notes or State bank notes. If the amount of paper money in the country is to be left to the National banks the prosperity of the people is then at the mercy of a small close corporation of bankers; and if it is to their interest to contract the currency they will most assuredly contract it. The paper money of the Nation should be issued by the Nation and its amount should be fixed by the people through their representatives in Congress. Hon.
