Sixteen Teams Tussle In Alpine Senior Scout .Tourney The Alpine Invitational Senior Scout basketball tournament got underway Saturday night with sixteen teams swinging into ac tion. Two extra period tussles featured the play Provo's Bonneville Bon-neville downed American Fork Sixth ward 21-16 in the first overtime game and Salt Lake's North Twenty-first ward came from behind to tie the game 26 all and win in the overtime 30-28 from Provo's Seventh ward. Monday night American Fork Fourth ward posted a 37-30 win over the salt city's North Twenty- first crew to remain a favored contender for the championship, The Fourth warders will tangle with Salt Lake's Eleventh ward Friday night in a semi-final round. The temple city boys downed Highland 36-18 Monday night to get a chance to tackle the American Fork champs. Games will start at 7 p. m. Fork Phone 650 Primary Veterans Receive Church Acclaim Thirty eight Alpine stake Primary Pri-mary Association workers were numbered among the hundreds of veterans of the organization who occupied seats of honor at the Saturday afternoon session of the 43rd annual conference of the association in Salt Lake City. Mrs. Lucy Bush, secretary of the Alpine stake Primary, topped the list with 32 years of service. Next were Mrs. Mary Humphries with a service record of 31 years and Mrs. Maud Beck of Alpine with 30 years. Mrs. Bush began in 1922 in the old First ward as a class leader, and In the 32 years since that DAUGHTERS OF UTAH PIONEERS Adams Camp Adams Camp, DUP, will meet Thursday, April 21, in the Relief Society rooms of the First ward church. Basketball Boys Guests Of Overlys for Dinner Mr. and Mrs. Don Overly were hosts at a dinner party Monday evening complimenting the high school basketball boys. Mrs. Overly was assisted by Mrs. Leo Nelson and Mr. Nelson was . a special guest. Thirteen boys were present. During the evening Loyal Iver-son Iver-son was elected captain of the A. F. H. S. basketball team for 1949-50. . WINDBREAK MEET TONIGHT Alpine Soil Conservation district dis-trict of Utah State Agricultural college extension service will cooperate co-operate in conducting a meeting designed to instruct district farmers on the placing and raising rais-ing of windbreak tree rows. The meeting will' be held at the Highland ward chapel tonight (April 14) at 8 p. m. Raymond R. Moore, extension forester, will deliver a short talk and two films will be shown, according to Joel C. When queried as to when she began as organist for the First ward Primary Mrs. Humphries said "I Just went right on", meaning mean-ing that she was made organist of the organization as soon as she graduated as a young girl from the Primary assiciation. She then was Mary Wilde. Hers is an unbroken record of service as organist, which began before she was married and has run through the years of rearing a family. Mrs. Beck, like Mrs. Humphries, "never did stop" but was made secretary in the Lehi Second ward when she was 12. She was Maud Cox then. After her marriage mar-riage she went to the northwest for a year or two then moved to Alpine where for 18 years she has worked in the organization of that ward. Mrs. Beck says she has filled nearly every office in the Primary and now is first counsellor in her ward. Seven members of the stake board have served ten years cr more. Next to the record of Mrs. Bush is that of Mrs. Roxie Richards, Rich-ards, the stake president, who has been in the Primary Association Associa-tion for 19 years. The others with their years of service are Mrs. Lydia Kirkpatrick, 16; Mrs. Fanny Fan-ny Shelley, 15; Mrs. Vivian Hansen, Han-sen, 14; Mrs. Bemice Moyle, 13, and Mrs. Priscilla Murdock, 10.
