John South-wick South-wick will serve as sexton to replace re-place Ford Roberts. Mr. Roberts has consented to fill the position posi-tion of Supt. of the water department. de-partment. He was formerly employed em-ployed in this capacity. Richard Gray has served in the water department faithfully and capably cap-ably for the past two years. MURL M. THOMAS DIES SUDDENLY HERE Murl M. Thomas, 48, member of a railroad gang employed on the Union Pacific railroad, died suddenly near the Lehi hospital, Jan. 8. He had complained cf feeling ill and the foreman, Mr. Thompsen, of Nebraska, told him to rest in the truck. After a short time Mr. Thompsen returned re-turned to see if he were feeling better and found him slumped over. He tried to rouse the man intending to take him to the doctor but was unable to get any response. Dr. Elmo Edding-ton Edding-ton was called to the scene and pronounced the man dead. Lehi Chief of Police Clemn Turner was called to investigate and he, in turn, called Deputy Sheriff Walter Durrant, of American Fork. The body was taken to the A. H. Wing Mortu ary. Utah County officers and the Railroad Co. are endeavoring to locate relatives in California. Their efforts were reported Wednesday Wed-nesday to be still unsuccessful. Papers found on Mr. Thomas in dicate that his home might be in Los Angeles or Canoga Park, Calif. MOTORISTS CAUTIONED AGAINST MOVING ACCIDENT VICTIMS Lehi's State Highway Patrol man, Dick Evans, expressed a warning to motorists against moving accident victims, in his report cn a recent highway ac cident. Well meaning motorists may endanger the lives of injured injur-ed persons, by improper removel, he explained. He recalled cases where death has resulted following follow-ing transportation of the injured person in an upright position, where the life might have been saved by removal in an ambu lance. Due to the extremely hazardous condition of the high ways at present, this caution comes at a most opportune time TWO LAW BREAKERS PICKED UP HERE Two men, picked up in Lehi for driving while under the in fluence of intoxicating liquor, proved to be multiple offenders, according to Chief of Police Clemn Turner. Besides the offense of-fense of public intoxication, Moyle Steck, 26, of Gunnison, proved to be carrying illegal game birds. Further investiga tion proved that he had had his driver's license revoked nine months ago. He was held in the county jail. His 30 year old companion from Centerfield was fined $15. Nielson, received an in teresting letter, Tuesday. The letter came from a 14 year old girl, Lena Hegewald, who lives in Frieberg, in the "Russian" zone of Germany. This is the second of two letters received the first one arriving here last November. Miss Nielson had contributed a coat to the clothing drive con ducted by the Church cf Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She had placed her name and ad dress in the sleeve of the coat in the hope of receiving some response. Lena is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Max Hegewald, and is one of 8 children, who range in age from 6 to 24 years. All are active in the LDS church. They live in a branch containing 180 members. Usual attendance at Sunday School is 100, and at Priesthood meeting, 80. Pictures were enclosed of family mem bers. They have been through some very hard times, it was stated, but conditions are some what improved, and they are happy to be alive and together.
