Grave-Side Service Conducted For Kenneth Laursen Mrs Grace Chipman Attends Lunch Convention Graveside services for Kenneth A. Laursen, Ph.M. 3-c, 20, son of Mr. and Mrs Edward Laursen, Helper, were conducted in the American Fork cemetery Saturday Sat-urday at one o'clock by Elijah Chipman, bishop of the seventh ward and uncle of the deceased. The remains of the young seaman sea-man were brought from Bou gainville, South Pacific, where he died July 2, 1944. One hundred man agers from all over the state assembled to learn the latest methods of not only preparing the school lunches but the best food combinations to incorporate into menus for the food require ments of children. Thursday afternoon, July 1 there were approximately 120 boys and girls under 13 swim ming at Saratoga. All enjoyed the water and each had a fine time, Gordon Hawkins, recrea tion director announced. The children were accompanied by miss .Manam aairery, womens recreation director, and Leo B Nelson, assistant recreation di rector. Besides the heln of Miss Saffery and Mr. Nelson, Sara toga provides two life guards who are present whenever the children go swimming, Mr. Haw kins said. The people of American Fork should take advantage of the family recreation tickets, he ad vised. The children of those who have purchased tickets are entitled to transportation and swimming with no extra cost, Those who have not tickets are charged 15 cents for transpor tation and 25 cents for the pool. Those over 13 are asked to come Saturday morning at 10 a.m. Funeral Set Today At Salt Lake For Martin Hansen i TTimpral services will be held today (July 8) at noon in the LeGrande ward Salt Lake City, for Martin Earl Hansen 43", native na-tive of American Fork and brother broth-er of Bishop Leo T. Hansen. Mr. Hansen died at his home, 690 Yale Ave., Salt Lake City, Saturday Sat-urday night of a heart attack. Interment will take place in the American Fork cemetery. A sufferer from heart trouble for several years, he spent two months in the hospital earlier in the year, but had improved enough en-ough to return to work. Shortly after retiring Saturday night he had an acute attack which caused caus-ed death. The son of Richard H. and Margaret E. Thornton Hansen, he was born in American Fork Kit 94 1905. He spent his boy hood here and attended the pub lic schools. In 1927 he attended hnQinpss college in Salt Lake City and his since made his home there. married Elva E. Conder, Amprican Fork. April 25, 1928, in the Salt Lake L.D.S. temple. A member of th LeGrand ward, Ho was active in temple and gen ealogical work and at the time of his deatn was a memper oi the seventies quorum. Surviving are his widowi; a son, Ronald Martin Hansen, Salt Lake City; his father, American vnrb- and the following brothers and sisters, Edmund R. Hansen, Price; Wayne E. Hansen, Cop-prton; Cop-prton; Mrs. Fred (Zella) Nes-bit, Nes-bit, Salt Lake City; Leo T. Hansen, Han-sen, Mrs. Pearl H. A. Woffinden, Mrs. William T. (Lola) Mills, American Am-erican Fork.
