The bride is the former Jacketta (Jackie) Miller, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elden J. Miller, American Ameri-can Fork. Stanley Clark, Lehi, is lather of the groom. Nuptial rites were performed In the Salt Lake temple Thursday. Thurs-day. The bride was a picture in shimmering shell pink satin fashioned with a lace and seed pearl yoke, long sleeves and sweeping train. Her shell pink veil of Illusion fell from a coro net of orange blossoms and she wore a choker of pink pearls. Her bouquet was of pink carnations carna-tions centered with a white orchid. Attendants Mary Lou Mueller, Tooele, maid of honor; Marilyn Brown, and La Rae Tracy, American Amer-ican Fork; Barbara May, West Jordan, and Marilyn Miller, Bingham, bridesmaids, wore gowns of pastel pinks and blues with blue lace mitts. Their bouquets bou-quets were pink carnations. Mrs. Miller wore black silk and a corsage cor-sage of carnations. Best man's duties were performed per-formed by Earl Clark of Lehi. The diminuative flower girl Nancy Jane Miller was in pink net and held a nosegay. Train bearers Judith May and John Walker were in blue and , white satin. Gifts were received by Dianne Walker, American Fork; Shirley Powell and Caroline Comer, Lehi, and Carolee Crump, Palmyra. The gift room was in charge of Miss Rose Miller, assisted by Mrs. Douglas Pace, Provo, and Fern Stewart Salt Lake. Barbara Brown had charge of the gift book and Mrs. Jack Walker the guest book. Mrs. James May presided over the refreshment table, refresh ments were prepared by Mrs, Earl Larsen, Mrs. Myron Moyle Mrs. Meda Hunsaker and Mrs Glen Baker. Naomi Tracy, La Rae Robinson, Kay Holmstead, Joy Smith and the girls who re ceived the gifts, served. Leo Nelson was in charge of the program which included a vocal solo, "O Promise Me", Rus sell Webb, Lehi, accompanied by Mrs. Yvebti; accordian solo "Al ways", Larry Miller; two humor ous readings, Virginia Meiling White, Lehi; vocal duet "Let Me Call You Sweetheart", Judith May and John Walker; violin solo "Serenade", Mrs. Douglas Nash, and a vocal trio "L Amour", Mary Peck, Joan Ellison and Kathleen Devey. Joanne Boley accompanied. After a brief honeymoon 'in California the young couple will make their home in American Fork, both being employed by the Utah Power & Light Co. here. '"I, .5m iii'l I Mrs. Sarah H. Rowe returned home Sunday from Van Nuys, Cal., where she has spent two weeks with her daughter, Mrs. J. H. (Mary) Keuter. Raymond Frederick and his bride, the former Mary Lou Rettke of Harlowton, Montana, are to be honored with a wedding reception Saturday evening in the Legion hall given by Mr. Fredericks' parents, Mr. and Mrs. Willis Frederick. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Rettke. The marriage ceremony was performed May 7th in Harlowton by the Rev. Joseph E. Gibsan Attendants were Mr. and Mrs Ruben Johnson. For her wedding the bride chose blue and, beige tweed suit and wore a corsage of white sweetheart roses.f Following the wedding ceremony a reception was held at the ' home of the bride's parents. The new Mrs. Frederick at tended high school at Harlowton, The groom graduated from high school here, served two years in the army, 14 months of which were spent in Korea. He met his bride early this spring while employed at. Butte. They will reside in American Fork, where Mr. Frederick Is employed by the Utah Power & Light Co Former Resident Renews! Acquaintances A. J. Pedersen, Bellflower, Cal., who lived in American Fork for only 10 years and has been away for 32 years, was back i9 town Tuesday renewing old acquaint ances. Mr. Pedersen ' came to Utah specifically to attend the Benjamin homecoming, that be ing his first home when he ar rived in Utah in 1888. He built the brick home on the corner of Center street and First North, now occupied by the Alma Madsens. Next to it was the blacksmith shop where he plied his trade from 1905 to 1915. He is now 85 years of age but made the trip back by bus "so I can see the country." He has spent ten days m Pay son with a sister and will visit in Salt Lake City before he returns re-turns home. His daughter, Mrs. Annie Yates, is having a family gathering in Salt Lake Sunday for her father. Mr. Pederson has six children, 11 grandchildren grandchil-dren and 14 great-grandchildren. Since retiring from his trade he has built ten homes in Bell-flower, Bell-flower, doing the work himself, with the exception of the plumbing plumb-ing and elertriral wirins. He still owns four of the homes, wnicn provide his income. He has seen Bellflower grow from a vinage to a city of 40,000 in habitants. The bride-elect graduated from the high school this spring where she was a member of the Ladies Glee club. She is also a graduate grad-uate of the Alpine stake Semi nary. Mr. Crystal graduated from the local high school in 1941. He has been prominent in city basketball teams as well as being on the high school team. He served three years with the United States army with over- seeas duty in Europe. 4 Garden Club Hears Expert V 41 "Develop your community so as not to detract from the God given giv-en beauty all around you" was the appeal Leon Frehner, Utah state landscape architect, made to the members of the Home and Garden club and guests at the regular meeting Tuesday night. Assembled on the terrace in the beautiful gardens of Dr. C. R. Anderson, the group enjoyed a talk by Mr. Fehner who also showed a number1 of colored slides. Utah hasn't begun to take advantage of her scenic possi- Dinties, said Mr. Fehner who has traveled extensively throughout the country. The last ten years, he pointed out, more progress has been made in the garden art than possibly for the whole cen tury of Utah's history.
