Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Banks spent Thursday in Salt Lake City on business. Mr. and Mrs.' Roger Price entertained en-tertained at ' dinner Sunday, honoring Mrs. Price's brother' and wife, Technical Sergeant and Mrs. Dan Hunter, who are visiting visit-ing here from Chandler, Arizona. William Skinner has returned to his home after visiting in San Francisco, California, for two weeks with hi3 daughter, Mrs. Amos Marino, who is confined to the Santamonna hospital. He also visited with Mr. and Mrs. Dell Skinner at Lomita Park. Mrs. Sarah E. Gaisford and Pete Gaisford were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Woods in Salt Lake City Thursday evening. Mrs. Madge Thrasher Dicker-son Dicker-son and baby left Monday for Pocatello, Idaho, where Mrs. Dickerson has accepted a position. posi-tion. . ' . Mr. and Mis. Charles Keeler left last week for California, where they plan to visit their daughter-in-law, Mrs. Grant Keeler, whose husband has been reported missing in action, and other relatives in Los Angeles and vicinity for several weeks. Mrs. Karl Webb entertained twelve little guests Tuesday, in honor of her son, Eugene, on his birthday anniversary. Games were played, after which delic ious refreshments were served, including a large pink and green trimmed birthday cake. Lehi friends will be pleased to learn of the birth of a son to William L. and Beth Fox Betts of Los Angeles, California. The new arrival, who has been named nam-ed David Fox Betts, was born Tuesday, March 13. He has one sister, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Fox of Salt Lake City are the grandparents. Mrs. Alice Stice and her son, Boyd Stice of Highland, attended a social at the Hotel Utah in Salt Lake City Saturday evening, which was given in honor of the retiring officials of the Union Pacific Railroad company, They were joined at Salt Lake City by Mr. and Mrs. Richard Douglas. There were 350 guests present at the affair. Primary officers and teachers of the Second war met at the home of Mrs. Rebecca Allred Thursday evening to discuss final details of ward Primary Conference, Confer-ence, which will be held April 1 in the ward chapel. Following the meeting, delicious refreshments refresh-ments were served by the hostesses, hos-tesses, Mrs. Myron Burgess and Mrs. Allred. Others present included in-cluded Misses Lucile and Edna Strasburg, Mrs. June Davis, Mrs. Perry Abbott, Mrs. Arthur Lewis, Mrs. Robert Allred, Miss Vena Gale, and Mrs. Everett Richins. The following young couples formed a party Saturday evening, eve-ning, and attended the Timpan- ogos stake Gold and Green Ball in Pleasant Grove; Mr. and Mrs. Bertrand Beck, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Wof finden, Mr. and Mrs. George Eason, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Rob-ert Webb, and Mr. and Mrs. Roger Rog-er Price. Mrs. Karl Webb was hostess to members of the Liahonian club at the Armond Webb home Wednesday Wed-nesday evening. Mrs. Glen Has-lam Has-lam reviewed the book, "Winter Wheat," and two piano selections selec-tions were played by Miss JoAnne Taylor. Mrs. Glen Wanlass. read the litany. Special guests were Mrs. Wayne Bushman, Mrs. Clive Norman and Mrs. Dean Worlton. The next meeting of the group will be March 23 at the J. W. Wing home, with Mrs. George Bone as hostess. A musical program pro-gram will be given. Mr. and Mrs. Arvil O. Stone, Mr. and Mrs. Mark Featherstone, Mrs. Marshall Webb, and Miss Edna Norman attended the capping cap-ping exercises of Misses Mary Rae Featherstone, Myrtle Stone, and Maxine Webb, U. S. Cadet Nurses, Salt Lake General hospital, hos-pital, which were held in the Mc-Kinley Mc-Kinley ward chapel in Salt Lake City Wednesday evening. Miss Featherstone, Miss Stone and Miss Webb were the only Lehi girls in the group, the first from the county hospital to take the cadet nurse pledge, which is replacing re-placing the Florence Nightingale pledge. Mrs. Cyril Anderson and daughter, Sandra, of Provo spent' Sunday in Lehi with Mr. and Mrs, Edward Fox and family. ' Mrs. Karl Webb was delightfully delightful-ly surprised Sunday, when her sisters, Mrs. Morbeth Snow and Mrs. Joseph Phillips of Provo, and Mrs. George Selman of Orem, and her niece, Mrs. Bill Hancock of Orem, brought a hot dinner and spent the day, in honor of Mrs. Webb's birthday. Mrs. Lester D. Colledge entertained enter-tained a group of friends Wednesday Wed-nesday evening, honoring her daughter, Bessie, who was recently recent-ly married. The bride received lovely gifts. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Ellison (Bessie (Bes-sie College) left Thursday for Ogden, where they will visit a short time before they leave for Denver, Colorado, where Mr. Ellison will receive treatment for wounds at the army hospital there. A family gathering was held at the I. W. Fox home Saturday evening, honoring Mr. Fox on his birthday anniversary. Those present included Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Brems, Mr. and Mrs. El-dred El-dred Fox, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Fox, Mrs. Delilah Brems and daughter, Jairus, Sherman Fox, and Fern Fox. v Among out-of-town residents attending funeral services for James Comer Saturday were Judge Dallas Young and Mr. Johnson of Provo, Mr. and Mrs. William Perry and daughter, Jessie, Mr. and Mrs. Wilford Ray and daughter, Virginia, and Leo Paul, all of Salt Lake City, Robert Rob-ert Laird of Springville, Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Maxwell of Midvale, Mr. and Mrs. Webb Brady of Bingham, and Mrs. B. Friends of Mr., and Mrs. Golden Gol-den Adams of Layton will be pleased to learn that their daughter, Miss Lois Adams, has been named one of the twelve Utah college students to be included in-cluded in the "Who's Who Among Students in American Universities Universi-ties and Colleges" for 1945. Miss Adams is a prominent student at the U. S. A. C. at Logan. Mrs. Adams will be remembered as the former LaVerde Evans of this city, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Evans. A. Anderson Heads Weed Committee Hyrum A. Anderson has been named weed control supervisor for north Utah county, it is announced an-nounced by S. R. Boswell, county agricultural agent. Reed Bird of Springville will be in charge of the southern end of the county. Cultivation applications are now being received from county farmers. This year's allotment of the weed control chemical will be the same as in 1944, which totaled 16,965 pounds of powder and 1,065 gallons of carbon bisulphide bi-sulphide liquid. 844 of the 1551 acres which have been cleared of weeds since the beginning of the program in 1937, were done in 1944. All farmers wishing to cooperate coop-erate in the control campaign may obtain further information through the agricultural offices in the city and county building at rrovo, or irom Mr. Anaerson. Benefit payments are made to those farmers who apply before May 1 at the AAA office.
