Pipe Threading An Interesting slant on the old adage about "beating swords into plowshares" is provided by the Plumbing and Heating Industries bureau which points out that, shortly short-ly after the Napoleonic wars, old muskets recovered from the battlefields bat-tlefields were used as a gas distribution distribu-tion system in London. Tremendous quantities of old-fashioned large muskets were taken from the battlefields, battle-fields, threaded, and fitted with crude couplings. It is believed that this marks the beginning of pipe threading in commercial quantities. hi i-HW'T!te1T-1 "'" 1 v- ' , ' ys-S . J WAR BONDS 1BM A . ( t t I w i I n i ! Vi t' I.
