The order generally forbids additions to our plant, , except for service required tn the war effort or for public health antl safety. It directs that only a minimum of materials may be used in connecting new telephones -with facilities now in place. It orders much wider use of party line service. Also restricted are new installations f residence extensions, and the order forbids the replacement re-placement of any equipment except when required for the efficient operation of the service. The application of these restrictions will undoubtedly un-doubtedly mean inconvenience for some people part of the price of protecting our liberty but we ask your fullest cooperation, for the restrictions will mean that snore lead, iron, steel, tine, copper and rubber used in telephone equipment will now go into arms.
