Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Golden Adams and daughter, Marion, of Layton were dinner guests of Mrs. Geneva Stewart. Later in the day Mrs. Stewart accompanied them to Provo, where they visited with Mrs. Juliet Taylor. Sheriff and Mrs. John S. Evans of Provo were visiting in Lehi with friends and relatives on Monday of this week. Mrs- Inez Peterson has been visiting vis-iting in Salt Lake City during the past week with her daughter, Beth. Wallace Glover attended a banquet ban-quet at the Mirror Room of the Hotel Utah Friday evening. The affair was given by the Hastings Company for the employees of Bradshaw Auto Parts Company. Irvin Dickerson, who has been employed at Divide, Montana, for some time past, arrived home last week and then left Friday with the Utah County Selective Service Draftees Draf-tees for a year of military training. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Powell and children of Cody, Wyoming, arrived here during the week and will remain re-main here for a while. i Mrs. J. O. Robison, a brother of Joseph Robison of this city. Miss Pearl Peterson of Salt Lake City spent the week-end in Lehi with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Butterfield and sons, Robert and Gary, of Riv-erton Riv-erton were guests of Mr. and Mrs. David Roberts on Sunday. Mrs. George G. Robinson and daughter, Marie, spent Monday in Provo. Mrs. Marcille Gunther Grossman of Los Angeles, California, has been spending a few days here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Gunther. Miss Leone Jones spent four days of last week visiting in Salt Lake City, as a guest of Miss Miml Rose. Mrt and Mrs. J. R. Otis of Mt. Pleasant spent the week-end here visiting with Mrs. Otis' parents, Mr. and Mrs. O. A. Holmstead. Principal Lloyd B. Adamson attended at-tended a Schools Administrator's conference in Salt Lake City Friday Fri-day and Saturday. Mrs. Vera Pixton and daughter, Patsy, of Salt Lake City were visiting vis-iting here Saturday with Mr. and Mrs. James H. Gardner. Friends will be pleased to hear that Mr. and Mrs. Milton Hunter of Logan are proud parents of a new baby daughter, born Thursday, March 20. The mother, formerly Miss Fern Gardner of this city, and baby are doing nicely. The new baby is the thirtieth grandchild grand-child of Mr. and" Mrs. James H. Gardner of this city. Mr. and Mrs. Milton Russon, who have been living in Hollywood, California, Cali-fornia, since their marriage, arrived ar-rived here Monday for a visit with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. K. Chatfield and Mr. and Mrs. Wil- ford Russon. They are moving to Brigham City, where Mr. Russon will be associated with the Felt Mortuary. Irvin Dickerson, one of the Lehi draftees, who left last Friday, is stationed at Monterey Park, California, Cali-fornia, and has been placed with the signal corps, it is reported. Mr. Dickerson has been employed as a telegraph operator for some time past. Mrs. Jennie Hartshorn was guest of honor at a delightful shower party given by her aunt, Mrs. Jennie Jen-nie de St. Jeor Thursday afternoon, after-noon, previous to her marriage to Andrew Losee. The ceremony was performed in the Salt Lake temple Friday, March 21, with President Stephen L. Chipman officiating. Mrs. Jennie de St. Jeor accompanied accompan-ied them through the temple. Clell Jackson, city electrician has been ill at his home during the past several days. He is improving improv-ing at the present time. Peterson spent Tuesday in Salt Lake City. Hospital Notes Mrs. George Ingram of Mercur is receiving treatment at the local hospital. She was admitted on Monday. Mrs. Luther Gale was removed to her home on Tuesday from the local lo-cal hospital. Ruby Bone, who underwent an operation for a ruptured appendix at the hospital several days ago, is improving. Mrs. E. W. Gurney and baby were removed home from the hospital hos-pital Friday. Mrs. Everett Richins and new baby were removed home from the hospital on Friday. Mrs. Roy Fox, who underwent an operation at the hospital recently, was removed to her home on Wednesday Wed-nesday of last week. Mr. Harden Woodhouse arrived here Saturday for an indefinite visit with his sister, Mrs. Rachel Anderson. The family of Mrs. B. G. Webb entertained in honor of her fortieth wedding anniversary on Friday, March 21. The occasion proved to be a real family celebration. It was also the eighth wedding anniversary anni-versary of MT. and Mrs. Robert Webb. Mrs. Webb, accompanied by her children, their husbands and wives, and her only brother, Max B. Rothe and his wife, spent the afternoon at the Salt Lake temple. In the evening a wedding dinner was given in her honor at the home of her daughter, Mrs. James R. Atkinson, 1327 Harrison avenue, Salt Lake City. The table was centered with a beautiful five-tier wedding cake, which held forty-eight candles on it. The forty candles represented the fortieth wedding day of Mrs. Webb and the eight candles represented repre-sented the eighth wedding anniversary anni-versary of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Webb. The cake was made and decorated by Mrs. Webb's daughter, Mrs. Wesley Jense, of Pleasant Grove. The family presented Mrs. Webb with a lovely corsage of roses and sweet peas and a beautiful cameo necklace, as a wedding gift. Those present besides the guest of honor were Mr. and Mrs. D. C. Tidwell and three children, Eugene, Marilyn and Ray, of McGill, Nevada; Ne-vada; Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Jense and son, Gary Webb, of Pleasant Grove, Mr. and Mrs. James R. Atkinson At-kinson and two daughters, DeAnn and Barbara, of Salt Lake City, Mr. and Mrs. R. Ward Webb, Mr. and Mrs. Robert G. Webb, Dick Webb and Mr. and Mrs. Max Rothe, all of Lehi. Great Oratorio To Be Presented At Conference During the L. D. S. conference this coming April, the Tabernacle Choir will present one of Felix Mendelssohn's masterpieces, the oratorio "St. Paul." More than 600 people will take part in this event. The Tabernacle Choir numbering 350, J. Spencer Cornwall, Director, the M. I. A. with 125 dramatic performers, W. O. Robinson directing, the Brigham Young University Orchestra. of 60 or more under the direction of Le-Roy Le-Roy J. Robertson, the Great Organ, and also a number of soloists and others will combine to make this a great musical and dramatic event. Elaborate preparations are being made for the presentation of this great oratorio. The stirring events and travels of the great Apostle Paul have been arranged in dramatic drama-tic form by W. O. Robinson. Special lighting effects, newly designed scenery, an enlarged stage with many elaborate costumes will be featured. Mr. and Mrs. Homer Trinnaman of Price spent the week-end here with Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Trinna man and other relatives. Sunday they were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs- John Laveder in Midvale. Misses Carrie, Locile and Edna Strasburg and Mrs. G. S. Peterson spent Monday visiting in Salt Lake City. The Chantante Chorus of Lehi, of which the bride is a member, furnished fur-nished the musical program Later in the evening dainty refreshments were served. About fifty guests were present. The bride received many beautiful gifts. Mrs. Robinson Robin-son was formerly Miss Ada Phillips. Delightful in every detail was the wedding reception given last Wed nesday evening in the Lehi First ward amusement hall, in honor of the marriage of Miss Ada Phillips, daughter of Mrs. Alice L. Phillips, and Mr. Howard Robinson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Reed Robinson of American Fork, which was solemnized solemn-ized Monday evening in the Salt Lake temple. Dancing was enjoyed during the evening and a program was given with David Adamson of Salt Lake City acting as master of ceremonies. Program numbers included two selections se-lections by the girls chorus, which is directed by Mrs. Robinson, a reading by Mrs. Lucile Rhodes, a vocal solo, "O Promise Me" by Mrs. Margaret Kirkham, a trumpet solo by Beth Anderson of Spanish Fork, a reading by Mrs. Alice Harding of Vineyard, a violin selection by Al-vin Al-vin Wollschleger, and remarks by Mayor Dean Prior. The young bride was lovely in a white taffeta wedding gown. In the receiving line were the young couple cou-ple and their parents. The young couple received manv beautiful gifts. Mr. Robinson left Friday with the Selective Service draftees for Fort Douglas and then left Monday evening for Kentucky ror a year of military tralnine. Mrs. Robinson will remain here while he is away. Mrs. Alta Webb took her Sunday School class to Salt Lake City Sunday, Sun-day, where they visited the Catholic Catho-lic church, other churchts in the city, and then attended the recital at the Salt Lake tabernacle. Twenty-two girls were in the group. Mr. and Mrs- Rodney C. Allred, Mr. and Mrs. Wilford Hardman and Grant Ash also accompanied the group. Miss Beth Jackson, who Is now department head of the Sport Shop at Makoff s in Salt Lake City, presented pre-sented a fashion show to the girls of the Westminister college Friday evening. The girls' mothers were guests and over one hundred were in attendance. The president of the college entertained them at his home after the fashion show. Coming Marriage Of Alpine Girl Is Announced Mr. amd Mrs. John A. Whitby of Alpine announce the coming marriage mar-riage of their daughter, LaRee to Mr. Austin F. Whitmer of Central, Arizona. The marriage will take place in the Salt Lake L. D. S. temple on March 27. A wedding reception will be held in the Alpine gymnasium at 8 p. m, March 27. Miss Whitby and Mr. Whitmer have both filled missions in the Western States. Miss Whitby is a graduate of the American Fork high school, where she was vice president of the student body during dur-ing her senior year. The young couple will make their home in Arizona.
