Sherman Chrlstensen, Utah county attorney and leader In junior chamber of commerce, Republican and legal circles in the state, this week announced his, candidacy for the Republican nomination for congress con-gress in the second district. While studying in Washington, he served as assistant business specialist special-ist In the bureau of foreign and domestic commerce and wrote a series of reports and articles which gained wide distribution. Mr. Chrlstenson Is chairman of the Utah Junior Bar council and past president of the Utah County Bar association. As a lawyer he has written frequently for the Utah Bar bulletin and lay publications on legal subjects. During the last school year he taught business law at Brigham Young University. He Is a member of a special committee appointed by the American Bar Association As-sociation to study the Utah bill of rights. In January Mr. Christenson received re-ceived the Provo junior chamber of commerce distinguished service award presented annually to the young man performing the most distinguished dis-tinguished service to his community. He is Immediate past president of the "Provo junior chamber and a member of its board of directors. Mr.. Christenson was elected na- j tlonal committeeman at the Young Republican state convention this year, and two years ago served as Hugh Vern Wentz Enters Race For Attorney Post TTiio-vi vern Wfintz announces his candidacy for the nomination as District Attorney on the Republican ticket in the Fourth Judicial District Dis-trict of Utah. This district includes Utah, Wasatch, Uintah, and Duchesne Du-chesne counties. Mr. Wentz has has law practice, with headquarters in Provo, a native son oi urem, ws son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray V. Wentz of Orem. Mr. Wentz attended B. Y. U. where he distinguished himself In forenslcs and in newspaper activities. activi-ties. Later he attended the University Univer-sity of Chicago where he obtained his Ph. B. degree, and also received his Doctor of Laws degree from the University of Chicago law school.
