Hans Hortoll was born Novombor 15, 1844, In Wost Womonhog, Skono, Sweden. Ho was married to Ollva Boss Santosson, March 1, 1873, from which union throo sons woro born to them. In lwi no ana nis son, uun, emigrated to Utah, making tholr homo In Salt Lako City, whoro his wlfo and two sons who emigrated In 1891, lived. In Juno, 189G, his dear companion passed away. Ho moved to Peon, Summit County, Utah, -whoro ho rosldod until Juno 29, 1921, when ho moved to Lohl, making his : homo with his son, Carl J. B. Hertoll. Following a sickness of about two years bo passed away Wednosday, : Novombor 23, 1921, at 4:30 a. m. Ho Is survivod by his son Carl, nino grand children and ono groat grand child. He was 77 years and 8 days old. Ho was ; burled in tho Lohl comotory. Before emigrating to this country : ho had boon nn army offlcor for tho : King of Sweden and Norway for six : years. Tho. King chnngod his namo, Johnson, to Hortoll, bocauso thoro wore too many Johnsons. Ho was also al-so a prison guard at tho big central prison in Mnlmo for 20 years before resigning to como to this country to join his family. |
